With the release of Star Wars: The Last Jedi right around the corner, a lot of speculation has been coming out about what type of role Rey would play.
Today we got a glimpse at the IMAX poster which provided us with more reasons to think that Rey will be joining the dark side. The poster showed Rey in a red cloak, which doesn’t sound like a lot, but it could really make for an interesting turn in the trilogy.
Previously the trailers that were released, we were shown a scene with Rey talking about how she was looking for guidance, that we can only assume was not given by Luke, and Kylo Ren reached out his hand offering his help.

Now I personally believe that this all may just be to throw us off. Why introduce Rey as a Jedi in a world that desperately needs saviors if she were bad?
Luke said in the trailer that the Jedi must end, but that could simply mean that they need to rebrand themselves. Like maybe the whole quote is “It’s time for the jedi to end, and then be reborn into something stronger than anything before it.”.
Maybe the title is also being taken out of context. The Last Jedi could mean that this movie will be about the final jedi, which could be Rey, or about the last person that was trained as a jedi, which could have been Kylo Ren.
I would just say maybe to keep an open mind about what is to come because it could be that Kylo Ren is the good guy and Luke wants to become bad or it come be the trilogy playing out exactly like it should with everyone being what we expected them to be since the start of Episode 7.
Star Wars Episode 8: The Last Jedi will be released December 15th, 2017.
